UNDERFLOOR HEATING SAFETY GUIDELINES

The underfloor heating units must be controlled with an approved thermostat and its control instructions.

The underfloor system should not be turned on until the floor is completely dry and any screed/adhesive has fully cured. Once cured, the system should be turned on gradually over a 48 hour period.

Flat bottomed furniture MUST NOT BE placed over areas where the heating mat/cable is installed as this can restrict airflow to the floor, causing thermal blocking, and in extreme cases may lead to the cable overheating causing a possible fire hazard. This also includes rugs, bean bags, or any item which has a tog value greater than 2.5.

The heated floor area should not be drilled or nailed as this could damage the heating elements.

WARNING: Shock & Fire Hazard

 

If the Underfloor Heating System is damaged or not installed properly, fire or shock could occur resulting in serious personal injuries or damage to property. You must carefully follow the warnings and instructions contained in our instruction manuals & videos.

  • The thermostat must be used.
  • It is important that this equipment is installed only by a qualified electricians who are familiar with the proper sizing, installation, construction and operation of floor warming systems and the hazards involved. The installation must comply with all national and local electrical codes. If you are unfamiliar with these requirements, contact an electrician.
  • Our systems are designed for under floor heating purposes only. Be sure that the floor is not penetrated by nails, screws, or similar devices that can cause damage on first installation or during subsequent floor repairs in the future.
  • If the Underfloor Heating System is damaged, it must be replaced. Do not attempt to splice or repair any part of the system.

Please Note: The services above are used as soon as we receive the item from the manufacturer (we don’t keep stock here). If the item is In Stock with the manufacturer then the lead times displayed on our website apply and once we receive the goods the fastest delivery service will be used. Please use the Estimated Delivery Time shown on the product for the delivery window from time of order until receiving the item.

Small items are primarily sent with DPD before 12am. However sometimes the boxes are too large and must go with Parcel Force 24 hour (9am-5pm delivery time slot).

Large items with a height that exceeds 1500mm or up to 3 metres girth combined may have to be sent on a Parcel Force 48 Large express delivery.

Heavy items sent via a Pallet Service will be delivered as close to the property as possible but will not be taken off the pallet or brought inside the property by the delivery driver. We advise a minimum of 2 able-bodied persons to accept the delivery and carry the goods inside. You are responsible for checking the items on delivery to ensure you are satisfied with them.

    Our orders are shipped with Parcel Force, DPD or TPN Pallets.

    When your order is dispatched, you will be emailed with a consignment number & tracking link from the courier, which can be used to track your parcel.

    Whilst we do have a large warehouse, due to the sheer volume of styles, sizes & variations that is associated with bathroom products,  we do also have to order directly from the manufacturer in many cases.
    The delivery time will be stated on the product page which is the total time from placing the order and receiving the item.

    We strongly recommend you do not book plumbers or tradespeople on the strength of delivery dates or time frames, and we recommend you receive and check items from us before any preparatory work is taken.
